The Bombay Emerald Chutney Company (BECC) was incorporated in 2003. We started with two distinct flavors, Royal Mint chutney and Royal Plum chutney. In 2005 we added three unique flavors, Royal Cranberry chutney, Royal Pomegranate chutney, and Royal Tomato chutney. In January of 2009 we added frozen Samosa to our product line. In January of 2010 we added Koftas to our product line. We added our Royal Saag to product line in June of 2011.

Frozen Royal Saag is a spinach-based dish with a variety of spices and has the consistency of a thick, rich sauce. It has lots of antioxidants and is an excellent base for other ingredients such as lamb, chicken, beef, tofu, and Indian paneer.

In particular, the Royal Mint Chutney made with mint, cilantro, chilies, and lemon juice, works well with beans, rice, baked potatoes, hamburgers, lamb, veggie burgers, tofu, grilled poultry, beef and seafood. The Royal Plum chutney made with plums, dates, figs, a hint of mango and Indian spices, works particularly well with exotic fruits such as papaya and kiwi, tuna, pork, steak and cooked shrimp. The Royal Tomato is made with fresh tomatoes, baby ginger, green chilies, and a touch of cilantro. We suggest using it on rice, beans, tofu, eggs, vegetables, crudities, cheese, grilled poultry, beef, pork, and seafood. The Royal Pomegranate is made with pomegranate, apples, sugar, salt, and Indian spices, compliments red or white meats, seafood, any vegetables, and vanilla ice-cream. The Royal Cranberry Chutney, the sweetest of our collection still has a spicy hint to it. It is made with cranberries, mangoes, brown sugar, and Indian spices, goes well with Brie, fruits, cooked shrimp, turkey, steak, black sea bass, and pork chops.

Royal Kofta are made with Squash, Tomato, Gram Flour, Lemon Juice, Salt, Red Pepper & Spices. Eat cold or hot. You can use microwave to heat them. Serve as a hearty soup or with rice/bread for lunch/dinner. They are great to serve in parties.

Started by the Gupta family in 2004, BECC is founded on one principal, ensuring product quality. Nirmala Gupta, the President and Founder of BECC, produces each chutney and samosa with the same level of care as if it were being made for her own family. She recently described her motivations for starting the company. “I have been making these chutneys and samosas for my family for decades and after careful consideration I decided to unleash them and share them with other families.
